Our Faith Statement

STATEMENT OF FAITH

CCGN stands on the principals of faith as presented in the “Apostle Creed” of the first century. We
also accept the “Nicene Creed” that was confirmed in 325A.D. and the “Anthanasian Creed”. Being
an evangelical Church, we also accept the “Lausanne Covenant” as the basis of our faith statement.

1.      ABOUT GOD
We believe in the one and only true God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in essence while distinct in personality and function. (Exodus 20:2-3; Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 1 John 5:7)

We believe in God's direct creation of the universe without the use of pre-existent material, as according to the Genesis account. (Genesis 1:1-31; Exodus 20:11; Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 11:3)

2.      ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ our Lord, the Second Person of the Trinity, is the only begotten Son of God, and God the Son from eternity. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death and bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory to Judge the world.(Matthew 28:1-7; Acts 1:8-11; 1 Corinthians 15:4-9; Hebrews 4:14-16)

3.      ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Trinity, dwells in every born-again believer. He is ever present to testify Christ. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. (John 14:16-17, 14:26, 15:26, 16:13-14; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19)

4.      ABOUT MAN
We believe that man was originally created in the image and likeness of God. Men fell from a state of righteousness through disobedience toward God called sin. Sin causes the separation of man from God. All human beings are born with sin and are sinners in thought, word, and deed. (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 15:19; Romans 5:12,14). When Jesus Christ returns in His second coming, the true born again Christian will be taken to Heaven and all others will be condemned in Hell forever.

5.    ABOUT THE BIBLE
We believe that the entire Bible was inspired by God and is God’s complete and written revelation of Himself and His salvation to man. It is the supreme authority and source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. It is the only basis for our beliefs and the practice of the Church. (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Peter 1:23; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

6.      ABOUT THE CHURCH
We believe in the one holy universal Church, which is the body of Christ, and to which all born-again believers belong. Jesus Christ is the only head of the Church, who gives authority to the Church to shepherd its members. (1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 4:11-12, 5:23)

7.      ABOUT SALVATION
We believe that all who repent and receive Jesus Christ by faith, to be their Lord and Savior, are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become the children of God. (John 1:12-13, 3:3-16; Acts 16:31) Salvation is solely by God’s grace and is not merited by works; it is made possible only by Christ’s blood willingly shed on the cross for us. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5)

We believe in the eternal security of the believer, that it is impossible for one who is born into the family of God, ever to be lost, because he is forever kept by the power of God. (John 10:28-29; 1 Peter 1:3-5)

8.     ABOUT SPEAKING IN TONGUES AND FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
CCGN is an Evangelical Church. We do not believe that speaking in tongues or falling on the
ground when upon laying of hand on one’s head or body are evidences of born again and filled with
        the Holy Spirit.
